Argenta are looking forward to presenting at NI Days 2017!

It’s all change for NI Days this year, new location and new format. We’re looking forward to hearing from Stuart Dawson of the AMRC as we have been working with the AMRC over the last year developing an experiment execution system. There is also some really interesting looking case study presentations, from elephants at London Zoo to data acquisition systems with 5000 miles between the sensors and the NI hardware! The highlight will no doubt be the presentation from Argenta’s Dawid Wozny on our experiences with frameworks and templates!
Over the years we have used a number of different frameworks for developing our solutions and have also delved into template LabVIEW projects as a starting point for our solutions. We’ve had some good and some bad experiences that we would like to share. We’ll talk about the frameworks we have used, how they have affected development and what we are currently using. We would also like to share our experience of templates and discuss how we have loved and hated them!
There are a lot of frameworks out there to choose from and there is definitely not one that fits all projects. We want to try and share our experiences and hopefully spark some discussion on other people’s experience. We used the Actor Framework, which is an NI developed framework, for one of our latest projects, it’s been an interesting learning curve that I am sure Dawid will share with you on the day.
We have also tried using a LabVIEW project template, based on a structure used in a project, but inevitably this needs maintaining and doesn’t always quite match the requirements of the next project.
