Midlands Aerospace Alliance Conference pulls in record number of delegates

Last month the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) held their annual conference at the new Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) at Ansty Park, near Coventry which was well received by delegates as a ‘fantastic venue’. This was the fourth year that the MAA had held the conference and the second time that Argenta were attending as members of the organisation.

This year was no exception for high level speakers and included Paul Kahn, President, Airbus Group UK and President, ADS, Oliver Towers, Business Leader Mechanical Systems, GE Aviation and Jim Godman, Head of Global Engineering Integration, GKN Aerospace. All leaders from the Aerospace field in their own right and looking to pass on their knowledge related to the conferences key theme - “How do we grow the UK aerospace supply chain? – identifying the barriers, investing in solutions”. Concluding the event was Flt Lt Jonny Dowen, Typhoon Display Manager, 29(R) Squadron RAF Coningsby who provided a very interesting presentation with some dramatic videos shown!

Jeff Woodhams, Argenta’s Technical Director, attended the conference and “found it to be an excellent opportunity to hear from those leading the aerospace sector of today, identifying the issues they’re facing and the ways in which they are developing different technologies to help overcome some of these”. It also gave him an opportunity to meet a variety of prospective clients as well as catch up with some familiar faces over a cup of coffee.

Alongside the key note speakers was the opportunity for delegates to meet other alliance partners and explore the exhibition as well as hear from the sponsors of the event.

The Press Release from the MAA can be found here.
