Continued success for the Midlands LabVIEW User Group

The fourth meeting of the Midlands LabVIEW User Group on 13th April was another great success with the event welcoming new and returning members as the word spreads about how useful the group is proving to be. The 15 attendees particularly liked the friendly nature of the group which promotes the ability to talk freely about their experiences as well as the opportunity to network amongst like-minded individuals.

The first part of the afternoon was delivered by Mathis Baumert from Intelligent Energy who presented an in-depth review of Code Architecture for those who are preparing to take National Instruments certification exams. Mathis, who has achieved the Certified LabVIEW Architect status, was able to provide a useful insight in to the exam structure. His expertise provided guidance, hints and tips as well as running through some questions examples. The group found this particularly relevant and even those not preparing for the exam commented on how useful the session had been.

The second half of the session was a discussion forum facilitated by Chris Woodhams of Argenta based on Live Code review. This gave all of those who attended chance to participate in an open discussion, sharing ideas and discussing issues that they may have come across themselves. It was a new approach not used previously in the user group and was well received by the group.

The group are grateful to Control and Data Services for hosting the event in their conference facility.

The next event will be on Monday 20th July and held at Warwick University; further details will be available in the coming weeks and will be available on Argenta’s blog page as they are released.

Anyone who either uses or works with LabVIEW within their current role will find this event useful and informative, as well as being a good opportunity to develop their network. It’s free to come along, those interested in attending should contact the organisers, Argenta, either by e-mailing Jenny Bragg (jenny.bragg@argentaconsult.com) or calling 0121 318 6363.
