LabVIEW Tip - How to generate string array of the alphabet

We recently had a requirement to refer to an array of strings consisting of the letters of the alphabet. I set about trying to find an alternative to manually entering the data, as “there’s got to be a quicker way of doing this”!

Sure enough within seconds of googling I came across this post in the NI forums. As with all coding solutions, there are many ways of implementing it. I’ve modified one of the solutions as below to enable selection of upper or lower case characters and added my specific requirement in to get an array of drive letters.

Hopefully this will help others trying to find a quicker way of doing it!
