With just a month to go before our next Midlands LabVIEW User Group we are delighted to confirm the final line up.
Our Summer Midlands LabVIEW User Group will be taking place on Monday 11th June 2018 starting at 12.45pm. This time we will be hosted by the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) on behalf of National Instruments, after the success of our last couple of meetings there we are looking forward to returning!
We are also delighted to say that we have three fantastic speakers; Ian Billinglsey, Peter Horn and Sam Sharp.
Ian Billinglsey from Computer Controlled Solutions Ltd presented at our first User Group in October 2014. We are pleased to say that he is returning to his presenting slot after being a member of the group for many years.
In 2015 CCS embarked on an ambitious project to develop a single, safety critical, scalable, test rig to service a range of 79 hydraulic and electrical advanced jet trainer parts in the field. Their objective was to develop a solid LabVIEW operator experience combined with the flexibility of the TestStand sequence editor to enable the customer to customize and support the solution through final compatibility testing and the lifecycle of the test rig. In this presentation they will share their experiences and some pragmatic solutions to the key issues faced when developing a test rig of this nature.
We are also delighted to confirm that Peter Horn from National Instruments will be presenting. It is the second time that Peter has presented and from the reception last time it will be great to have him back! He will be delivering “Code reviews for teams that don’t have time for code reviews”, looking into how code reviews can be utilised within the development process.
Finally we have Sam Sharp from MediaMongrels who is well known to the group and LabVIEW community. He will be talking about a new feature introduced in LabVIEW 2017 called malleable Vis. A malleable VI (.vim) is a VI that is inlined into its calling VI and can adapt each terminal to its corresponding input data type. These have great potential for simplifying code, we look forward to hearing how Sam has been using them.
Taking a slightly different approach to the coding challenge this time around. Tobi, at Argenta, is preparing for his CLAD exam, so we thought it would be a good idea to test the MLUGers! Chris will bring along a few sample questions and see how we all get on!
We have limited numbers for this event so please get in touch to book your place!
Anyone who either uses LabVIEW within their current role or works with LabVIEW would be sure to find this event useful and informative, as well as being a good opportunity to network. Those interested in attending this free event should contact Jenny Bragg via email (email@example.com) or call Argenta’s office on 0121 318 6363 to register.
Argenta host the Midlands LabVIEW User Group three times a year, it is free to come along, with details about our previous meeting here.
