The Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA) is celebrating 15 years since its launch and are holding a black-tie event in Birmingham City Centre to mark the milestone which Chris Woodhams, Argenta's Managing Director, will be attending. The aim is not just to celebrate but also to bring together its members to thank them for their support.
The speakers at the event will be Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street and BBC TV presenter Nick Owen.
Andy Street is a key figure within the local community with his work as chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority which brings with it significant powers over transport, housing, skills and jobs. As such he will help the area develop key business links across many sectors including Aerospace, he recently made a trip to UTC Aerospace in Wolverhampton with Teresa May, the Prime Minster as part of this.
Nick Owen has been a presenter with the BBC since 1997 and is a familiar face on local television. He is sure to bring a few stories to the dinner about his time with other famous television faces.
Since Argenta joined the MAA in 2014 we have taken part in a number of different events hosted by the MAA themselves as well as other members such as Moog and Rolls-Royce. Along of course with the annual conference which has always been well attended and provided insightful speakers.
